Desde dos days encontramos dos individuos de Búho orejas cortas. Intentamos ante ayer capturar el búho, usamos redes de niebla, reclamo, y un ball chatri con gorriones. Ni aparecio.
Ayer, Pedro Luis Muciño haciendo su transecto nocturno, vio un individuo, llevaba el material para capturar y logro una captura.
El material es un fanal con batteria seca, una trampa de aro, que hicimos de tubo de pvc medio suave, por no tener fibra de vidrio. En el centro pusimos una red de luz de tres dedos, y le colocamos un mango compuesto de dos tubos de aluminio, llegando a ser como tres metros. Y nada mas..Esta technica no la recomendamos a donde haya perritos de la pradera, porque de noche no pueden caminar sin causar daños en los tuneles de los perritos.
El resultado es lo que es, lo capturamos.
En la foto, Pedro se ve muy serio, pero creeme que nunca lo vimos tan feliz.

Since two days ago, we found two short-eared Owls. We try to capture them two night ago, with mistnets, paly back and ball chatri with two sparrows. We don't see it.
Yesterday pedro Luis Muciño, doing it's spot-tailed Nightjar transect saw one birds. He have the equipment with him and manage to capture one.
The equipment is a spot light, with a dry battery, a round tramp (kind butterfly, modified) done with flexible PVC (We don't have fiber glass) In the middle we put a net of three fingers wide, and put an "long" handle done with aluminium pole. It's a bit heavy, but it work. Better if you have a fishing rod of 4 or same 6 metres. This technics is very hard to use where Prairie dogs are because at night walking you destroyded gallerie and entrance..
On the pictures, Pedro looks very serious, but We never see him so happy that night.+

Como hubo personas que preguntaron para la trampa de los búhos, aqui les va dos fotos. Una de un servidor para el show, y la otra del capturador (Pedro) que logro capturar el búho con este mango de 3,5 metrs.
