La migración de primavera se acabo / End of the spring migration

Estuvimos un poco ocupado estos dias. Acabamos la migración de primavera con 5700 capturas  de 128 especies. Abajo les ponemos una grafica del flujo migratorio

We was a bit busy these days. We just finish, last week the spring migration. We end with 5700 captures of 128 species. Below a graph of the Spring migration.

De las especies comunes, es interesante notar que el buscabreña (YBCH) pasa antes de los colorines siete colores (PABU) y del zorzal de Swainson (SWTH) como lo muestra la gráfica abajo

About the commun species, is interested to see that Yellow-breasted Chat (YBCH) cross through before the Swainson's Thrush (SWTH) and Painted Bunting (PABU) as show in the graph below. 

y dentro de los colorines siete colores, los machos adultos pasan antes de las hembras adultas, y probablemente antes de los machos jovenes. tenemos en los jovenes 40% de machos, Pyle (97) menciona 43 %.. Estamos bien cerca. ¿Seria que el año 2010 fue un año estandar para la productividad?

and whitin the Painted Bunting, the adult males arrive first, before adult female, and probably before young male. In the SY we have 40% of male, Pyle (97) mention 43%. We are very close. Could it be 2010, a standard year for ratio producitivity?

 

Ahora es tiempo de pollitos y el pantano esta lleno de estos miméticos bebes..

La migración bajo, menos aves estos días, solamente 567 aves capturadas en la semana del 8 al 14 de mayo: los playeros tambien ya se van, y estan pasando los picopandos ormamentada.Aqui les pongamos las 20 especies mas comunes capturadas este año hasta ahora.

The migration down, less birds these days, only 567 birds captured this week (from 8 to 14 of May). The shorebirds leave too, and the Hudsonian Godwit cross through. Below find the 20 mist commun species captured this year.

Buscabreña migración / Migration of Yellow-breasted Chat

Estamos al final de la migración del buscabreña (para nosotros aqui en Veracruz), entonces nos pusimos a analizar un poco la migración por clase de edad. Es muy interesante. Los adultos pasan antes que los jovenes. Checan esta gráfica. Sem 1 es Marzo 2 a marzo 8, Sem 8 abril 23 al 29. En naranja los adultos, en azul los jovenes. La proporción cambia en la segunda semana de abril.

We touch the end of Yellow-breasted Chat spring migration (for us, down there in Veracruz). We start to analize the age calss. very interesting. The adult cross through first, and young later. Give a look at this graph. Sem 1: MArch 2nd to 8, Sem 8: April 23 to 29. In orange color adults, in blue youngs. The rate change during the second week of april.

De lo que va del año, ya hemos rebasado las 5000 capturas. Las últimas dos semanas de migración nos dieron mas de 1500 aves. Con algo de sorpresas...desde ayer el viento paso norte, y ya se calmo la cosa.

Since beginning of 2011, we captured more than 5000 birds. The alst two weeks gave us more thn 1500 birds. With some surprises, but since yesterday the wind change and it's north now, the migration slow down.

Hay 183 aves mas. Bastante trabajo. Las sopresas del día fueron Cuclillo pico amarillo y tirano tijera.
Hay muy pocos buscabreñas, creemos que el grueso de la población ya paso. Ahora nos toca, a 5 o 6 aves por día (contra 80 o 90)..Hoy hubo bastante chipes, en particular el amarillo.
Veremos mañana si podemos, por los vientos fuerte de sur que acaban de llevantarse.

183 birds more. Lot of work. The surprise of the day was Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. The Yellow-breasted Chat are just few birds now. It's probable that the most of the popultion get over. we just get 5 or 6 birds per days (against 80 or 90). Lot fo warblers today, mainly Yellow. 

Tomorrow, we hope that the strong wind will stop at night and gave us chance to capturre tomorrow. We are close of the 5000 birds capture this year.
