Una semana de locura / A crazzy week

Esta semana rompimos record de captura para el sitio: 1,224 aves capturadas, de las cuales 1,188 son nuevas. El buscabreña es la especie mas común en nuestro sitio.

This week we hit the sky with 1224 birds captured, which are 1188 new birds. The Yellow-breasted Chat is the most commun.

El pato se regreso / The teal get back

despues de pasar casi une semaine en la orilla del pantano, desde el viernes pasado, se regreso. El equipo en campo pudieron fotografiar a esta cerceta con el transmisor en la espalda...una semana despues de su colocación

After to spend almost one week on the edge of the marsh, the last friday the teal get back to our study site. The field team photographed the bird one week after been equiped with the Ptt.

otro día de locura / Another crazzy Day

Este año tenemos muchos días locos, pero hoy rompimos nuevo record con 294 aves capturadas. Los dos anilladores fueron Gerardo Rodriguez Ramos y Pedro Luis Muciño. En cuanto sabemos cuantos Icteria virens lo anunciaremos...todavia falta afinar las cuentas.

This year with have lot of crazzy days, but today it's a new record: 294 birds this morning. The two banders were Gerardo Rodriguez Ramos y Pedro Luis Muciño. When we have the final count of birds by species, We will post it, but Yellow-breasted Chat and Swainson's Thrush are the majority.

Sacamos un mapa de argos web page para ilustrar los movimientos del patos en las últimas lecturas. Selecionamos nada mas los puntos a donde existe una buena recepción. Estos datos corresponden a un día completo.

Se va al sur oeste del pantano.

Pronto tendremos una lectura cada semana, entonces menos datos. Pusimos en azul la distancia entre el punto inicial y el último punto, no podemos decir que ya migra. Con eso, esta del otro lado del rio coatzacoalcos.

We get a map activity on the last movements of the Duck, it seens moving around. We select only the point with a good reception. These data are from a single day.

It goes at the South Oeste of the Marsh.

Soon We will have only one readdy per week, so less datas. We put in blue the distance between the first and last point, we can't say it's migrating. (2,88 miles). With that the bird cross Coatzacoalcos river.

El 7 de abril 2012 equipamos un Anas discors con un tansmisor satelital. Hoy el pato hizo su primera salida del pantano (lectura con buena recepción). No se fue bien lejos pero cruzo el río Coatzacoalcos. Vamos  a seguir a este pato hasta podamos y regularmente publicaremos un nuevo mensaje.

The past April 7th. 2012 we set up a satellital tag on a Male Blue-winged Teal. Today this duck get out of our study zone, still very close, It just cross over Coatzacoalcos river. We will follow this duck and let you know its movements.
